      I am a specialist in invertebrate ecology and have highly developed botanical and report writing skills, as well as more general skills and experience developed while working in an ecological consultancy.I have considerable experience conducting invertebrate surveys including walkover surveys, assessment of potential open mosaic habitat, freshwater surveys and species specific habitat assessments (e.g. marsh fritillary, white clawed crayfish, freshwater pearl mussel). I have conducted freshwater River InVertebrate Prediction And Classification System (RIVPACS) and River Invertebrate Classification Tool (RICT) Bio-assessment surveys. I also assist other parties with invertebrate assessment / identification and habitat management most notably Greater Manchester Ecology Units Grey to Green project, and a number of Lancashire Wildlife Trust sites and associated groups.Other survey and assessment experience includes: • Phase 1 and Extended Phase 1 habitat surveys;• UK Habitats Surveys;• NVC surveys;• Hedgerows assessments;• Biodiversity Net Gain assessment using Defra Metric 2.0 and 3.0;• Great crested newt habitat suitability index (HSI) assessments and presence or absence surveys(methodologies inc. bottle trapping, torch counts, egg searches and eDNA); Possess Class 1 Great Crested Newt survey licence;• Bat roosts assessments;• Water vole / otter surveys;• Badger surveys Show less
