      The Operatione review project was initiated to review and restructure the Debswana operations in order to a build a high performance organization that meets global benchmarks with superior productivity. This was a high impact project in terms of employees affected. The project entailed a review of the operating model and higher level business processes.The project also sought to identify appropriate structures to support the model. In reviewing the structures, the project looked at reporting layers, spans of control and roles, skills levels, people competencies and productivity. It sought to ensure that the Mines have skilled and competent employees who will ensure delivery of its current and future commitments. My roles included the following: i) Assisting with the facilitation and scoping of the Project at high level with associated detailed planning of the 12 sub projects (work steams) that constituted the project. The Project was implemented across the two sites Jwaneng Diamond Mine and Orapa Letlhakane Mines with an interface at head office for alignment across sites. ii) Tracking and reporting on the project progress update on schedule, deliverables of the project, cost, issue, risks and decisions taken on the project. iii) Managing the progress of work from the consultants that were assisting the core internal project team. The consultants included among others a Change management consultant, Employee relations, Polices and procedures etc. iv) Mentoring and handholding the project and sub project managers on the use of the project management methodology, procedures, policies and templates to enhance their delivery of work efficiently. Assisting with provision of overall assurance around the governance on the Program in terms of adherence to the approved implementation principles, guidelines and Debswana’s policies and procedures.
