  For many years I worked for the NIU University Libraries, most of those years at the NIU Music Library. I supervised the day to day operations of the library, hiring and training a staff of student workers, cataloging materials and assisting with reference and research. I collaborated with faculty to program the semester's reserve materials and assisted the librarian whenever needed.During this time I served many terms on the Library Operating Staff Advisory Committee, including terms in each executive position: chair, vice chair, secretary and historian. This committee acted as a liaison to the administration, keeping them appraised of staff needs and concerns. I also served on the library's strategic planning committee in 2010, where we clarified the University Libraries' mission and direction during a time of budgetary cutbacks. Show less
