-Office: I coordinated the receiving of materials and shipping of products to customers or vendors.-Sawmill: I ran the following machines: Log Rounder, Log profiler, circular cut-off saw, Log Notching Machine, Forestor vertical band mill, drill press. I sharpened and changed knives/blades on these machines and changed settings on the machines for different size logs. I crafted and assembled structural log trusses using an architect’s drawings. I shaped and sculpted decorative wood pieces for special orders using a chainsaw and sanding equipment.-Boiler Room: I monitored the boiler that heats the log drying kilns. It is fueled by sawdust and wood chips from the sawmill. I adjusted the intake of fuel, the speed of fans/motors, and temperature settings to achieve the optimum log drying environment in the kilns.-Workshop: I operated the knife grinding machines to sharpen knives for the sawmill. I assisted with maintenance on company vehicles such as the John Deere front end loader (Diesel), International truck with Prentice crane (Diesel), Ford plow truck (gasoline).-Log Yard: I operated the John Deere front-end loader with a dump bucket for scooping wood chips, moving dirt/snow, and plowing. I used a forklift attachment to sort logs and load them onto the sawmill conveyors. I assisted with scaling logs and loading trucks.

-Inventory Control: I worked in and eventually managed the Inventory Control department. I operated a variety of forklifts to replenish stock. I managed a crew of 6-8 workers with the task of keeping the shipping floor stocked. I reviewed any pending literature orders and directed my crew to supply the production floor with the items needed to complete those orders. I assisted with personnel training and performance reviews.-Stock Management: I coordinated dealings between our Shipping Department and private carriers such as United Parcel Service to ensure that shipments were completed on time, ready for shipment via truck, and complied with truck weight restrictions. I verified the accuracy of data entry done in-Receiving. I assisted the Export Shipping department to ensure compliance with Export laws. I worked with the Printery Main Office with the scheduling of production runs. I was trusted with keeping new products confidential until official releases were approved.-Training: I trained new personnel to do various jobs on the Shipping Floor and in the Office.-Technical Writing: I wrote many training manuals to assist other trainers, some of which are still used today. I wrote troubleshooting guides to assist personnel in operating conveyors, machines, and computers used in shipping.-Receiving: I received shipments of literature produced on the printing presses and book binding machines and entered them into stock. I measured all items and entered the weight and dimensions electronically to be used by our virtual packing software. I received shipments from other countries and verified the accuracy of packing lists.
