      Entomology Research conducted under Dr. Sally Paulson:· Assisted in experimental setup and execution. Responsible for maintaining multiple colonies of mosquitoes and then identifying, counting, and documenting results of experiments. · Initiated my own project to design, construct, and test a novel mosquito trap with dual capabilities to capture for host seeking and gravid mosquitoes. Patent pending on trap design.· Worked with various vectors for diseases and became bio-safetly level two certified through my experience. Learned various diagnostic tests to determine if a mosquito was infected with a disease.

      Was a brother and member of the executive council of the SA chapter of DKE in Blacksburg, VA. As Secretary, I took notes during meetings and organized events for the fraternity. While working as part of the executive council, I coordinated DKE's participation in the Run 4 Ryan philanthropy event dedicated to the prevention of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in young adults. I also participated in Movember, a month long event in November to raise money to support men's health. In Fall 2014 I was awarded the Dave Calhoun scholarship for achieving the highest GPA of all brothers living in the fraternity house.The Sigma Alpha chapter was awarded the Lion Trophy in 2012 for being the most improved chapter and was runner up for the Delta Award in 2014.
