2nd Line Service Support
-
Jul 2021 - Present
I started as a 1st Line Service Support Apprentice, handling tickets on the service desk and responding to on-site engineers within my ability. After 5 months, I was promoted to 2nd Line Service Support, where I learned to handle more technical challenges. Within my role, I took on various responsibilities outside of the service desk, such as Team Lead for 1st Line Support. This is where I ensured that 1st Line staff's wellbeing was ok, and escalated any problems if necessary. Currently, within 2nd Line, I co-opt responsibility as a first point of contact with a major client, to help with various technical issues. Internally, I collaborate with the Projects Department with the procurement of hardware, set-up and configuration. My role also includes stakeholder management and managing expectations, where I ensure that important information is escalated or reported in a timely manner. This in turn assists with the Technical Director's role of engaging with clients and addressing the meeting of Service Level Agreements. A big part of what I do day-to-day involves building long-lasting relationships with peers and collaborators, to help create a friendly working environment. This role includes Level 3 IT Apprenticeship in Infrastructure Technician which includes completing an apprenticeship alongside full-time employment in a Service Support role. The modules of my apprenticeship include: - Networking Fundamentals - Networking Architecture - Business Processes - Mobile and Operating Systems - Cloud Services - Coding and Logic Show less

I started out as a Vacuum Former which involved working machines to strict instructions to create different products. I then progressed to be a Lathe Turner to cut materials to specification and was provided training to receive qualification for the role. When problems arose, it required comprehensive diagnosis and root-cause analysis to judge whether they could be resolved internally, otherwise the dedicated on-site Maintenance team would be called upon.
