The flock, as they are affectionately known, base decisions on this principle and apply it to everything from strategic planning, graphic design, web development, recruitment and choosing the people we work with. Doing the right thing has worked, from a personal, client and employee point of view, so it is my aim for Blacksheepdesign to do more of the right thing for more nice people in more diverse organisations in more places.

As national marketing manager, I was responsible for developing the University's national external relations strategy across 3 campuses and almost 40,000 distance learners. I worked very closely with the the assistant vice chancellor for external relations to consolidate disparate activity across the university into a unified message, which repositioned the University as the Engine of the new New Zealand. This repositioning culminated in internal and national external campaigns through multiple channels including social, digital, TVC, direct, print, outdoor, communications and PR. Aside from the repositioning, student recruitment was a focus, including basics such as introducing a registration system for University events that captured details for ongoing engagement. In the last few months of my time at Massey, I was the acting director of marketing, covering maternity leave. Show less
