  My role at ION Geophysical is to deliver high-quality and effective technical software to offshore and onshore users. I came to project management from the shop floor, building leadership and business skills on top of a strong technical foundation gained from multiple cross-divisional R&D projects. I leverage insights from a uniquely broad understanding of the industry and its technology when I am designing new propositions and when I guide my team towards our stated goal. I have developed an open communication strategy within the office, driven towards building consensus within my team, as well as with stakeholders.I love building teams, and growing with them as we strive for excellence. I build positive environments, founded on respect for each other's strengths and personalities, using an open forum for discussion as we strive to improve the process and the product. I am a firm believer in Agile methodologies done well!I am one of six project managers in the Edinburgh office of ION Geophysical. ● I work hard to gather and understand user stories, requirements and priorities, as well as to understand the business case.● I design software that build on our own technology stack, adding new toolkits as necessary.● I work hard to build consensus with stakeholders and users.● I empower my team members and provide a positive and supportive environment for them to succeed and grow.● I encourage and support process change within my own team, as well as across my division.● I champion Agile processes within my division, and have a number of happy developers and high-quality products to show for it!● I still enjoy writing code myself, and perform code reviews on a regular basis.● I take personal reviews of my team members.
