  My role as a Pilot Launch Coxswain is to work in partnership with Peel Ports, Mersey VTS and Liverpool Pilotage Service to ensure that Pilots are delivered in a safe and timely fashion to their inward bound vessels. Within this role I also have to ensure that all duties as a commercial skipper are undertaken such as; ensuring all equipment is in date and serviceable, maintaining records of passengers on-board and any passages undertaken, passage planning, checks of machinery spaces and engines and general husbandry of the vessels in services. During transfer of a pilot the whole evolution is the responsibility of the Pilot launch skipper. Within Liverpool Pilot Service we have 5 vessels for Liverpool, a Vessel in Heysham and a Vessel at Point Lynas on Anglesey. It is my responsibility to move our pilot vessels from one location to another in the event of break down or any maintenance needed. Show less
