Mark is one of the most passionate and engaging teachers I have had the pleasure to work with. Our fields are vastly different, but I can tell that the students that take his classes are genuinely interested in physics and he does a great deal to nurture the interest and passions that they have. He creates an outstanding learning environment within his classroom that encourages students to reach success. He is responsible, in part, for the massive growth that our physics department has undergone over the last seven years.

I have known Mark about 6 years now - dating back to 11th grade physics. Since we met he has always demonstrated an outstanding and innate ability to effectively communicate with others on both an academic and personal level. Not only did Mark accomplish the impossible task of teaching me projectile motion, but he has helped me grow as a student through college and now as a young professional in San Francisco. Not only is he a great educator, but he's an even better friend.
