1983 - 1984
This role which was based in Victoria in London, was to assist the Marketing Director in the promotion of House of Fraser on a national platform. My day to day responsibilities involved organising the House of Fraser buyers to supply relevant product information, pricing details and special offers to use in our marketing campaigns. I would then liaise and work alongside the creative team from the Advertising Agency that we employed to assist in the creation of our marketing materials. I was the central point of contact between the two companies. As my first job, this role gave me a great insight in to how a marketing campaign was created from an initial concept and then transformed in to a full blown campaign across national media including television, radio, national press, magazines and outdoor advertising.I had to work to very tight deadlines ensuring that the Advertising Agency had all the materials that they needed to create our campaigns within the allotted time frames.
