I had the opportunity to volunteer with Mark for Engineers without Borders in 2009. Despite having no past experience in fundraising, Mark took this opportunity as a challenge and was a very dependable and dedicated teammate - a quality that is very valuable, especially in a volunteer organization. An example of this is when me and Mark put on a garage sale as a fundraiser - even though we knew this was not going to be a profitable venture, Mark kept his commitment, and kept volunteer morale high by bringing food and coffee for those who had devoted their Saturday morning as well as by socially engaging people in what would have otherwise been a dull fundraiser. He is also an excellent listener and has the ability to see the duality in every situation making him a great sounding board for ideas and advice. Mark is a socially aware and creative individual, qualities which will make him successful in any task he takes on. Thank you Mark for being an awesome teammate!
