Mark played a pivotal role in driving the adoption of Salesforce within SIG UK. Originally a subject matter expert, stakeholder and business "visionary" helping to shape the solution during development, latterly the primary business owner responsible for understanding business requirements, working closely with myself as Salesforce Product Lead to design solutions which would add value to the business, and proved instrumental in the promotion of best practice across all sales teams via his excellent stakeholder management, credibility as a senior sales manager, and natural ability to build effective relationships. Mark managed change, and overcame resistance to new ways of working with humour, gravitas, and professionalism. The support he provided to senior sales leadership to adopt best practice, understand how to make best use of Salesforce to manage their people and add value via data driven decision-making was critical, and there are undoubtedly many of his peers who will feel his absence strongly in coming days. As a sales enablement and sales operations specialist, I understand and appreciate effective sales managers, and in my opinion Mark would be an asset to any business who wish to do business consultatively, leveraging current technology to enhance traditional sales techniques and ways of working, and require a credible, competent sales leader to inspire their team.
