Mark is an exceedingly patient and intuitive tutor, and an exceptionally fair examiner of aviation talent, knowledge and potential. As the Chief Flight Instructor of Ottawa Aviation Services, I witnessed first hand his skilled coaching of many young Flight Instructors, several of whom have gone on to Line Captain positions with regional airlines. I keep in touch with some of Mark’s former aviation students and employees, and they uniformly praise the unselfish mentorship that was clearly NOT concerned about building his own instructional hours. (I have seen Mark dispatch a Commercial candidate solo, with the remark: ‘I know how to fly - but you need to practice’!) Mark runs a very safe FBO, and has consistently demonstrated a highly insightful recognition of quality customer service, which is uncharacteristic for general aviation in my view.
