Just a little over 3 years ago, I was honored to be invited to join a team of approximately thirty professionals who were about to create a new standard for mapping of buried utility infrastructure. We have now produced CSA (Canadian Standards Association) S-250. Keeping such a team of personalities and egos from across Canada (and a couple from the USA) in line during the many meetings and calls for consensus was not an effortless task. Such a technical standard brings to the front varied and strong professional opinions and beliefs. We were, however, fortunate to have CSA’s Mark Braiter assigned as our Project Manager. Mark is a seasoned Project Manager with a knack to encourage
Connie Jorgensen
Mark Braiter and I had the chance to work together on a particularly problematic program. Mark inspired our team (from various departments) to keep pushing forward, despite many barriers, while maintaining a both a sense of purpose, and a sense of humour. He leads by example, and brings out the best in his team members. It was a pleasure working with him, and I would always welcome the opportunity to work with him again.
