This appraisal process applies to new business proposals and annual renewals, together with increases and amendments to existing facilities. I undertake sensitivity analysis to ‘stress test’ lending proposals using a variety of tools including the Bank’s modelling, rating and loss probability models. In addition I undertake research using business press, professional contacts, credit rating and information agencies and develop and maintain credit risk and industry sector expertise.

I worked in the Major Corporate Property team managing a portfolio of customers with senior debt lending >£25m. In addition to identifying and exploiting opportunties to lend additioanl money to exisitng borrowers, I also had a target to identify and establish relationships with new good quality prospective borrowers. This I did sucessfully and in 2007/2008 secured new borrwoing liabilities of £99m in what proved to be challenging market conditions..
