Project Engineer responsible for the building of the A1 DBFO computer traffic model comprising a 52 mile section of the A1 between Darrington and Dishforth. Responsibilities included the production of a number of reports including the Report of Survey, Local Model Validation Report and the Forecasting Report. Project Engineer for a single storey steel framed PFI hospital. Duties included detailed design of both the structural steelwork and foundations. This was achieved by traditional design methods and computer aided design packages, notably S-Frame and TEDDS. Working initially as a Project Engineer, but soon elevated to Lead Engineer for the design of precast concrete units for a large distribution warehouse. Mark was charged with the layout, design and detailing of the dock pits, 29 different precast retaining walls and 18 different groundbeams. This also included the design and detailing of the joints between the precast units and the structural steelwork. As part of the job, the Project Managers used the information channel Datastream (on the Internet). This improved data communication, particularly drawing issues, between the different consultancies and contractors. Instead of a standard paper issue of drawings, this was all done electronically via uploads to the Datastream website. Show less
