With a strong focus on meeting planning, facilitation, and participation. Educated individuals wishing to lead workshops that teach participants how to plan, facilitate, and be an effective participant in meetings. These curricula were part of The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s 10 City Making Connections initiative. A fundamental belief that residents should have strong voices in decisions that are made about their neighborhoods and that they should be provided with training and support that enables them to be better prepared for this role. Those who completed the training were better equipped to understanding the goals of the meeting and the organization, Keeping the group on the agenda and moving forward, Involving everyone in the meeting, including drawing out the quiet participants and controlling the domineering ones, and assuring that decisions were made democratically. Those completing these courses received college credits from accredited College and Universities.
