  As part of my graduation requirement, I took this apprenticeship with Dr. Petit. In this job, I learned about electronically excited molecules, photobases, and their theoretical aspects about them. I analyzed real-world experiments involving quinoline derivatives and applied them computationally. The long-term goal of my research was to identify the best computational approach to modeling intersystem crossing rates in quinoline photobases. Understanding the properties of quinoline photobases can help further applications in green chemistry. Show less
