Mark joined SGCE as director of the Juniper project in May, 2018. I was also employed by SGCE and was responsible for process engineering on the Juniper project - I reported directly to Mark from May, 2019 to July, 2020. This was a very challenging project due to the cost and scheduling pressure. During the time I worked for Mark we were trying to complete detailed engineering while closing all of the HAZOP recommendations while also resolving some remaining technology issues. I developed a great deal of respect for Mark while working for him in this role. Expectations as far as results and timing were very clear and well communicated. At the same time, his direct reports were given flexibility to work independently. This approach worked very well, especially during the pandemic work from home phase of this project. Mark had a very good grasp of the essential concepts in each discipline area while allowing his employees to handle the details. I felt that problems and important decisions were very effectively communicated and resolved. I also felt that issues and status were very effectively communicated to upper management and his direct reports were kept well informed. Overall, he managed to highly motivate his staff and successfully complete the key engineering objectives given limited resources and a very aggressive schedule. I enjoyed working with Mark very much and hope to have the opportunity again in the future.

I worked with Mark on several offshore projects. Mark has broad knowledge of topsides process systems. It is easy and pleasure to work with Mark.

• Topsides facilities production and drilling design for offshore platforms and vessels • Lead engineer in charge of a team balancing manpower, schedule and quality to meet project goals • Project engineering integration between production, drilling, riser and vessel design entities • Development of new deepwater platform arrangement • Delivered training for engineering software and design spreadsheets Projects include: Pemex - Well Test Service Vessel I developed simulations and designed the topsides facilities based on over 30 well compositions with dramatically different properties. I developed “for construction” level P&ID’s for both the production and marine systems. I evaluated vendor-designed equipment for suitability over the range of conditions. I interfaced with companies providing the topsides equipment, flexibles, control and vessel certification. Marathon - Annapolis Wellhead Platform Study I conducted preliminary design of topsides facilities to process 750 MMscfd of gas. I interfaced with vendors to obtain details of the drilling equipment required to drill to 25,000 ft and with sister companies developing the risers and Octabuoy (SPAR alternative). I made a detailed analysis of the topsides weight and layout of the facilities for structural support requirements within hull limitations. A member of the steering group to plan installation of the separate vessel and deck offshore in a harsh environment. DELOS Falcon Nest Gas Production Facility Developed specifications and datasheets for RFQ packages for many of the topsides process skids for a 200 MMscfd production platform. I technically evaluated the bids for each skid and selected a preferred vendor and remained in contact with the vendors through construction. Show less
