Kids Into Discovering Science (KIDS) is a Charles County, MD based nonprofit fostering hands-on K-12 learning in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and project management. KIDS developed a human-powered submarine throughout the COVID-19 quarantine. After months of virtual meetings and socially distanced work sessions, the group was able to test the youth-designed propulsion system in a local outdoor pool. Additionally alternate members will be nominated for the following positions: Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard, Chief Petty Officer and an E-6 and below. The Nominating Committee may, but is not required to, nominate more than one person for each vacancy, at its discretion. A majority of the Nominating Committee shall determine the names to be submitted for election. Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) is Coast Guard people helping Coast Guard people, providing financial assistance to members of the Coast Guard family.
