This position is undoubtedly an amazing opportunity to be with an organization filled with such great purpose and people. The Easter Seals NL head office is located in the Easter Seals House on Mount Scio Road, St. John's. I am fortunate to be working side by side with an intelligent, caring and dedicated team to engage, inspire, and empower by providing over 20 life-changing programs and services for persons with disabilities throughout the entire province of Newfoundland and Labrador! We have well over 1000 registrations. We are also well along the way with our Capital Campaign in building the largest accessible and inclusive Park and Playground in Atlantic Canada, right here on the grounds of Easter Seals House. A very exciting time for all involved. Thank you to all of our supporters and friends of Easter Seals and its participants.

    • Chief Executive Officer
      • 2005 - 2014

The Board and I led the organization in its mission of developing Strategic Management Accounting professionals and resources so as to further advance and integrate the profession. We positioned the CMA-NL as one of the pre-eminent organizations in the province. I oversaw the marketing plan creation and implementation, built strategic partnerships nationally and within the province. I also served as the public face of the organization and built partnerships with media agencies to develop marketing strategies and brand presence that have made a direct impact on visibility and engagement. Areas of Impact: * Growth of 2067% from 3 graduates & 285 members in 2005 to 65 graduates & 550 members in 2015. Improved member satisfaction and pride survey results from 60% in 2005 to over 95% in 2008. * A renewed focus on member engagement and prestige along with increased program performance. * We increased the level of collaboration with other provinces, developing new revenue streams and introducing shared initiatives to drive stronger investment opportunities and continued financial self-sufficiency. * I employed a management style that emphasizes accountability, transparency, customer service and communication. * I developed a 5-year business investment plan established with CMA Canada with an emphasis on growth and brand presence that resulted in unprecedented success nationally. * I transformed our professional development forum into a profitable event with record attendance and by securing many new sponsorships.

    • Financial Controller and Contracts Manager
      • 2001 - 2005

I held dual roles with the joint venture (JV) between ATCO Structures and Logistics and the Labrador Inuit Development Corporation (LIDC). This JV provided logistics and support services to mining and exploration companies. While reporting directly to the company President I directed all financial and administrative operations. I was also responsible for contract oversight and administration such as camp construction, helicopter services, shipping services and air grounds operations. Areas of Impact: * While on the strategic leadership team along with upper management and other key stakeholders, we created a new business plan and organizational structure that benefited the LIDC.

    • Chief Financial Officer
      • 2000 - 2001

While employed by the largest private airline in northern Alberta (including the Capital City of Edmonton), I oversaw all financial operations and reporting and also served as a member of the senior leadership team. In this role I implemented internal controls and ensured overall accuracy of the company's accounting systems while overseeing the work of the Accounting & Business Admin. dept. The reporting requirements for this company were particularly rigorous as we had to ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations as well as with our own established policies and procedures. I also managed server information system contracts such as those for the head office and passenger cargo reservation booking.
