I joined JDA during a complex and protracted project with a Tour Operator, and was tasked with improving product quality by setting a test management structure in place. This was successfully expanded into responsibility for scheduling releases, ownership of content, documentation, and system and regression testing using a team of consultants to conduct requirements based testing. This role was expanded into the Air Freight and Rail sectors. I am a BCS Certified Software Tester. I initially joined British Airways on completion of my Masters Degree in Operational Research, and worked extensively on the carrier’s industry leading revenue management development, being particularly involved in optimization and in user training and support, areas which I still enjoy. I was recruited to BAWC when Revenue Management was first introduced there, managing a team of mostly graduates controlling rates and capacity for much of the network. Beyond this I recognized that Revenue Management is a balance between competing sales efforts, and worked closely with the sales force to ensure the right philosophy was being spread through the company, participating in many sales and pre-sales meetings. I was involved in system specification, development and testing with internal IT suppliers, and on completion of company funded MBA, was promoted to a US-based role where I led the team who purchased and organized all outsourced capacity used by BAWC in the Americas. This included supplier contracts and rates, rationalizing vendors, improving quality and cost reduction. Also had Alliances responsibility with the American senior management team, worked closely with American and Canadian Airlines on co-location, handling and selling opportunities. Show less
