Worked as a member of the Team Products install group supporting the Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest products. Developed and maintained the installs for these products, including adding support for new product features as well as fixing defects. These installers were both MSI based as well as Java and Eclipse based (IBM Installation Manager). Also worked with the support organization to assist in customer issues. Key Achievements- Created and led a cross-brand team to design and implement a common method for deploying web applications. Worked with representatives from CLM, desktop install, and the Rational Automation Framework for WebSphere team to determine needs, identify priorities, and develop the code. This was delivered in the ClearCase/ClearQuest 8.0 releases. I have built upon that work as part of the WebSphere install interlock group to seek how this can be utilized by other products across Software Group.- Created JNI code to find and stop product processes on Windows that were running when the user was attempting an install action.- Created C++ MFC based application to uninstall our MSI based products to assist large customers with upgrade scenarios. This tool cleanly uninstalled the products while preserving important user configuration data.- Drove a redesign of the ClearCase and ClearQuest feature trees in the 7.1.0.0 release. This involved working closely with product management, development, and customer support to create a logical organization of product functionality with updated names and descriptions for all the features. Also changed the underlying install organization to correctly map the individual files with the correct features. Show less

For the DPP, I have worked with members of the User Assistance, Installation Manager, and Clearinghouse teams to gather customer feedback on initiatives underway in each of those areas. Have presented at both the June and November 2011 VoiCE on improvements IBM Rational has made to Installation Manager, documentation, and licensing, and provided that customer feedback to the appropriate teams. Since January 2012, I have been the project lead for efforts on new Enterprise Deployment tooling, aimed at addressing customer concerns around large scale deployments of Installation Manager based products. In addition to working on the development of this new tool, I have established the priorities for the project, lead the demo and planning meetings for the team, while continuing to lead the DPP and VoiCE efforts in the Enterprise Deployment space.
