Refugee Resettlement Case Manager

As a Refugee Resettlement Case Manager I coordinated intensive case management services for over 100 refugees a year. I developed relations and collaborated with state and federal agencies, Buffalo Public Schools, primary care providers, local hospitals, and specialized services to advocate on behalf of the clients from Iraq, Bhutan, Burma, Somalia, Afghanistan and others. I trained and mentored new Refugee Resettlement interns and volunteers, providing them with support and supervision on a daily basis. I was responsible for maintaining accurate and timely case files and case notes under both federal and state guidelines for three to six months per case. I managed client confidentiality while providing sensitive, trauma-informed care to a diverse and vulnerable population.
