I divided my time between tracking studies and customised adhoc research. Several projects are worth noting, as research manager: • for the Recent Arrivals pilot of the longitudinal Household, Income and Labour Dynamics study I designed and tested identification and recruitment procedures to extend the panel. I co-designed the screening questionnaire and was responsible for respondent communications, including translated materials and interpreters. I also contributed to a detailed analysis of the methodology, response rates and procedures to provide recommendations and costings to extend the sample. • for the NSW Gambling Prevalence study I designed and pre-tested the 96 item questionnaire covering a wide range of gambling-related issues, including the Canadian Problem Gambling Index to allow for comparisons between other jurisdictions. I also co-designed and implemented a stratified sample where respondents were screened and selectively interviewed depending on gambling status - a total of 5,029 people were screened and 2,010 completed the interview. • of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Health and Quality of Life survey I oversaw 2,800 face-to-face interviews. Prior to fieldwork an ‘opt in’ methodology invited cluster sampled veterans and war widows to participate. I conducted two phases of cognitive interviewing to refine the 93 item questionnaire for DVA clients and 32 item questionnaire for their carers. • I was also responsible for managing the co-ordination and analysis of customer experience and satisfaction research projects for social and government clients, including studies for the Tasmanian Department of Health, Guide Dog Association, Births Deaths and Marriages, Australian Taxation Office, Seniors Card, Macquarie University and Sydney Water.
