Junior Researcher 'Endogeneity of Violence and Political Change During Democratization’

Researched Nigeria’s Democratization of 1999 as part of the project ‘Endogeneity of Violence and Political Change During Democratization’. This project aimed to disentangle the interplay between political changes and political violence by looking at the democratization-specific causes of violence and the patterns of violence surrounding democratization. Final results from the research were combined with my Master thesis for the Master Public Policy and Human Development from Maastricht University and UNU-MERIT (part of United Nations University). For the Soutern region, I was the main contact for the ministery and the delegations of all institutes of higher education. From co-writing the discussion paper and composition of the day, to arranging security and supervising speakers fell into my portfolio.
