Marissa provided inspiration, and set a positive example for her graduating peers, and the underclass Scholars in our program during the 2010 annual Leadership Conference. We are greatly impressed with Marissa's courage in fostering meaningful conversations aimed to empower other students. I particularly recall her enthusiasm for varied workshops-sepcifically those which gave her the opportunity to communicate life experiences and share her beliefs. Since graduating our Program, Marissa consistently seeks volunteer opportunities to give back. She has taken a leadership role with the Alumni Network and will continue contributing to the Magic Johnson Foundation's mission to improve the educational outcomes of college-age youth nationwide. Her dedication provides a model to emulate by fellow Alums of our Program. We sincerely appreciate Marissa's efforts!
