Using micro and macro behavior coding schemes, I examined young children participating (ages 7 and under) in mood-induction tasks for measures of affect and mood under primary investigators Dr. Maria Muzik and Dr. Kate Rosenblum. The ultimate goal of this project is to attempt to construct a practical, objective method of diagnosis for internalizing disorders in children who are too young for self-report methods. I also assisted with cortisol collection, home visits, and created a poster of post-hoc analyses examining the relationship between fearful behaviors and internalizing/externalizing disorders. My poster, Influences of Stressor Type on Observed Child Behaviors, was presented at the 27th Albert J. Silverman Conference in April 2016 in Ann Arbor, MI, and was one of four finalists considered for Best Undergraduate Research Poster. Show less

In addition to guarding the pool and ensuring all of my training is always at a 'test-ready' level, I performed routine chemical checks, added chemicals when appropriate, maintained cleanliness in all aquatics areas, consistently enforced all pool safety rules, and worked to provide a positive experience for all members and guests.
