Coordination, strategic planning, implementation: Collaboratively managed the NOAA Education Council, a coalition of representatives of NOAA’s education programs. Worked to build a community and achieve shared objectives among diverse partners. Evaluation and monitoring: Analyzed and presented data on NOAA's education programs to track progress toward the NOAA Education Strategic Plan. Consulted with programs to help them meet their targets for improvement. Annual reporting: Designed and edited the NOAA Education Annual Accomplishments report. Synthesized information to communicate progress toward the strategic plan. Building capacity and sharing best practices: Developed a storytelling workshop series for NOAA educators. Identified the need, researched best practices, and provided training workshops, videos, and written guidance for internal and external partners.Grant program support: Assisted with review process for NOAA’s Environmental Literacy Grants.Web content management: Led the transition to a new website. Managed conflicting priorities under extremely tight deadlines, assessed risks, and made decisions in the face of uncertainty. Communication strategy: Developed and implemented a communication strategy for the Office of Education and to represent education in a coordinated fashion across the agency. Identified a vision for improving NOAA Education’s online presence and worked to make it a reality.

Led collaborative writing sessions, internal review, public review through the Federal Register, editing, and design.Writing, editing, graphic design: Edited and designed the first NOAA Education Accomplishments Report (fiscal year 2013). Constituent and legislative briefings: Analyzed data and prepared materials for briefings. Partner coordination: Supported NOAA's Science On a Sphere® network, the National Ocean Council’s Interagency Working Group on Ocean Education, and other external groups. Environmental Information Management Database Cleanup (November 2010 – June 2011): Identified and corrected data quality problems in a large environmental database. Providedrecommendations for improving the integrity, consistency and usability of the database.Marine Monitoring Technician – National Coastal Condition Assessment (April 2010– September 2010): Sampled water, sediment, and fish in Puget Sound and Washington’s coastal estuaries as part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2010 National Coastal Condition Assessment.Marine Monitoring Specialist (September 2008 – April 2010): Maintained an array of moored sensors (Sea Bird CTDs) that provide continuous water quality data on Puget Sound to scientists, shellfish growers, and the public. Installed and performed troubleshooting of real-time data telemetry systems. Sampled water quality by floatplane and sediment by boat in Puget Sound and coastal estuaries. Analyzed and presented data from moored sensors, vertical profiles, and sediment monitoring. Supported the development of the Puget Sound Marine Water Condition Index. Participated in oceanographic cruises in Puget Sound (PRISM, University of Washington)
