Marisela is an amazing victim-witness advocate. She connects well with victims and their families and is able to explain how the system works in a way that makes sense to people who are unfamiliar with the system. Marisela can put the most anxious child at ease. She communicates professionally with court staff and is a great liaison between attorneys and civilians. Marisela's ability to speak Spanish was really helpful, since we always had victims and witnesses who did not speak English. her ability to communicate with these witnesses (and to do so with compassion) helped to build bridges that would not have existed otherwise. Marisela is smart, a hard worker, and dedicated to excellence. Any office would be fortunate to have her on its team!

I have known Marisela since 2017 and have to say that she is one of the most persistent and reliable individuals that I have ever met. In my experience, she never shirked from a challenge, never allowed adversary to prevent progress along the path to success, and was always a reliable coworker. She is driven, honest, and unflagging in her desire to put others first. I am honored to call Marisela my friend and regret that I will not have the opportunity to work with her professionally in the future.

I reported to 7 JRO(Juvenile Re-Offender) prosecutors. As a victim advocate, I attended any court hearings, depositions, victim meetings and any other events victims needed to be present for. I provided emotional support during these events and make sure their rights were protected and secured. The victims I worked with were victims of heinous and violent crimes, revolving from sex crimes, domestic violence and homicides. The paralegal portion of my job put me in charge of prepping all JRO cases, this included filing appearances, requesting discovery on the cases, adding hearings to the prosecutor calendars, sending out any victim impact statements and initial letters to the victims.
