Marisa is one of strongest leaders that I've ever worked with. Imagine someone that runs directly at chaos, navigates difficult situations and ensures that everyone around her is taken care of before herself. I've worked with these types of people before - they are combat veterans and warrior mentality men in the infantry unit that I served in when I was in the Army. It's pretty rare to find people with this mentality in the workplace who don't do it for show but actually just do it everyday because someone needs to do it. Marisa has been my other half here at Slingshot for a while now. I manage a team that hands new clients off to her team and we do that knowing these clients will succeed because of Marisa. Sure, Marisa doesn't manage all the clients herself but her team does and they are 100% an extension of her. The way she operates radiates through the strongest members of her team ten fold. She has so much audacity it's inspiring. She will say what needs to be said no matter who is in the room and you can't help but follow her lead when difficult situations and conversations arise. I recently learned that Marisa will be taking a path that will take her another direction from Slingshot. I'm honestly devastated that I won't be able to collaborate with someone that compliments my management style and motivates me the way she does. She really cares about everyone around her and is extremely genuine and I'm really going to miss her. I'm going to miss her making me question myself and helping me change things about my team. She would sometimes challenge me, call me out and make me question myself but even when I decided to take things a different route than she suggested, she would support me and have my back. If you have a bunch of people that you need to reach their full potential, throw them on a team with Marisa. If you have broken processes that needs a tweak or massively changed, show Marisa the playbook so she can make it better. If there's a room full of people scared to say what needs to be said, invite her in. Thanks so much for everything you've done for me and the teams throughout Slingshot, Marisa. Someone is going to strike gold with you!
