Marisa was one of those rare students who could think outside the box. What impressed me the most about Marisa wasn’t her answers to a given question but her questions to a given answer. Marisa was one of my top students in all my classes. Marisa possesses a reserved leadership style. She seems quiet, yet her peers hold her opinions in high regard and listen whenever she speaks. When working in the lab or on special projects, these skills very apparent. Members of other lab groups would often ask Marisa for her advice. Whenever teams were being formed, Marisa was always the first one chosen. These qualities are also evident outside my classroom. Marisa was a valuable member of our school’s Youth Group, F.B.L.A. and Pride. She was also a volunteer with our town’s community groups. Marisa is a very special person. She has been inducted into the National Honor Society. Marisa was also accepted into the Princeton University Materials Academy, PUMA, an unique student outreach program run by the Princeton University Center of Complex Materials.
