  Since the take-over by Datacenter United, I lead the operations team. We manage the infrastructure (cooling, power, ...) and the customer projects for the datacenters in Oostkamp, Gent and Burcht. We report monthly the KPI and we keep an eye on the operations with Paessler monitoring (5 million measurements a year). This data is also used to analyze the business and model the processes. This way we can optimize the way of working and plan the investements (also financially). All this is yearly checked by TUV referring to the ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 norms. Main tasks: - operations (managing in house team and suppliers) in HQ and 2 remote locations - operational planning of infrastructure (implementation, finances, ...), customer projects and opportunities - monitoring of services with Paessler with own developed custom sensors and notifications (a.o. TTS with VOIP) - dynamic dashboards - KPI, big data and reporting (a.o. VBA automated Excel reports and Grafana) - automations and technology integrations (modbus, rest, snmp, ...) with Python, NodeRed and C# - policies, procedures, checklist, risk analysis (FMEA), audits for ISO 27001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 with Confluence and Jira Show less

  I, together with other volunteers, coach on a monthly base a coderdojo session in Kortrijk and Roeselare. In those sessions we motivate and help kids between 7 en 17 to develop and present software solutions made in Scratch, Arduino and App Inventor (mobile development). Interested to come along on this very rewarding journey and to tutor the new 'Steve Gates' of tomorrow? Then take a look on www.coderdojobelgium.be. Hier kunnen kinderen en volwassenen verschillende technische apparaten gebruiken om hun ideeën te verwezenlijken. Er staat oa een 3D printer, Laser brander, sticker snijder, ... We coördineren de agenda, leiden bezoekers op, organiseren events (Arduino sessies), onderhouden de machines, ... In the fall of 2014, I was assigned to a school in Rekkem and in 2015 a school in Nieuwpoort. Occassionally I teach guest sessions, like App Inventor in SiVi Torhout. Interested in making an App for Android Smartphone? With STEM, professionals from private companies help schools with teaching Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics.   Shortly after receiving 'the Code of Conduct participant & Endorser certificate' of the European Union at the very start-up of datacenter Oostkamp in oktober 2010, we were rewarded with the prestigious ISO 27001 certificate by SGS. The base for this certificate is a proper DCIM, pragmatic procedures and an elaborated monitoring system where every bit & every electron are measured. The technical backbone for this ISMS is a redundant setup, state of the art technology (cloud, biometric identification, VOIP/IPTV, ...) and automated notification system. Currently, www.dcstar.be owns 3 datacenters across Flanders: Bruges (Oostkamp), Ghent and Antwerp (Burcht) connected via redundant fibers where a customer can rent private rooms, racks and units or virtual machines via own cloud platform coloflex.
