Product Manager RDM/Data Monitor
-
Jun 2018 - Jun 2022
2021-2022I have planned and executed on the Go to Market Strategy of products to support institutions and their researchers on their RDM journeys, including driving Sales Enablement and Market Activation.Collaborating with our tech team and experts from the research data community, I have designed a content policy to drive decision making on what repositories' content to harvest to create a corpus of research data records that is comprehensive and as accurate as possible.2018-2021I have collaborated with stakeholders across the Research Data community to capture the needs of researchers and their institutions on research data, from data creation to dissemination. Doubling as project manager, I have coordinated teams across the enterprise to effectively translate such insights into product improvements:- Expanded editorial system capabilities to support data sharing and linking of scholarly articles to research data- Improved findability (F of FAIR data) of research data associated with Elsevier journal articles within the Scholix initiative. Publisher in Biomaterials
-
May 2013 - Jun 2018
I have managed a bio/nanomaterials conference and journals portfolio in the Materials Science team. As publisher I coordinated editorial boards on all scientific publishing aspects (Strategy, Innovation and Product, Operations, Editorial Systems, Marketing) in close collaboration with expert colleagues across Elsevier. My focus was on innovation in the Peer Review process and I presented publishing workshops focusing on Research Data, Peer Review and Transparency to the Materials Science community. I have used data-driven approaches to improve the journal portfolio including launching the title Materials Nano Today. Show less

As a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Dr. Jennifer Zallen I refined a modular microaspiration set-up coupled to test response of cytoskeletal proteins in fruit fly embryos to external tension. In parallel I planned and performed genetic and immunocytochemical assays to screen for cytoskeletal proteins potentially involved in body axis elongation in fruit fly. PhD Student/ Research Assistant - Promovenda/ Onderzoeker in Opleiding
-
Dec 2006 - Oct 2011
I designed, performed and analyzed the results of rheology and microscopy in vitro assays to study the structure and dynamics of cytoskeletal proteins. I presented my work on these biomimetic materials to academic and non-academic audiences. The results of my research were published in peer-reviewed journals and in the form of my PhD thesis entitled "Structure and dynamics of active actin-myosin networks: an in vitro perspective". As the first PhD-student in the group of Dr. Gijsje Koenderink I was responsible for setting up initial protocols and procedures, building set-ups and the planning of large scale biochemical assays by initiating collaborations with other research groups.
