The medical product Mako is a care assistance system for contactless patient monitoring. Mako consists of the Mako-Sensorbox, and the Mako-Application, which can be used for Android and iOS devices. It helps caregivers to prevent patient falls without physical restraints through real time alerts and detects irregularities in bed exit and movement patterns indicative of sleep disorders or restlessness. I lead the development of the Mako application from conceptualization to implementation. My main tasks include: - Conducting user research, through user interviews and - Creating user personas, user journeys, user flows and the information architecture. - Ideation: sketches, creating wireframes and prototypes. - Usability testing with targeted user group, both summative and formative. - UI ideation, together with external UI designers. - Implementation with frontend and backend development. - Verification of the app: defining requirements, and app validation.
