Creativity and science are what makes me tick. I started at LaVision Biotec when the company had just over 50 employees. At that time, I was not just managing the marketing channels, creating content, and organizing exhibitions and customer events, but also using my design skills to make everything look good, like a one-person advertising agency. In the meantime, the company has grown and is now part of Miltenyi Biotec. I couldn't be happier to be part of Miltenyi Biotec's big in-house marketing team, which is bursting with expertise and sparks creativity. My responsibilities include: • Turning complex scientific topics into comprehensible, exciting content • Creating and managing marketing materials for print and web (website, flyers, brochures, testimonials, app notes…) • Market research (Customer surveys, competitor analysis...) • Implementing online marketing activities (social media, webinars...) • Developing messages, narratives and communication strategies for campaigns and portfolios Show less

A sneak peek into food technology: Just make a gel out of everything! I already knew how to make hydrogels. This research project was about oleogels (formulation of an oil into a gel). As part of a newly established research group, I started in the Patel lab as manager of my own PhD project. The professor also let me loose on his students and I was in charge of some courses and lab practicals. I did very well in writing grant proposals, which is why I became responsible for more and more research projects in parallel. From a technical point of view, everything had to do with the formulation of biological agents (cells, enzymes and plant extracts) into hydrogels. My main project actually resulted in a product that you can still buy today. When it came to creating a website for the group or writing articles (whether scientific or for the general public), I was more than happy to help out. Show less

When it came to creativity and design, I always shouted "here". So why not try such a profession? What started with an internship continued with a job as the go-to girl. I designed logos, did illustrations, created promotional materials, and – the coolest thing when you are a nerdy 19 year old – contributed to comic books. Along the way, I learned the common Adobe applications (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator). When it came to creativity and design, I always shouted "here". So why not try such a profession?
