The board oversees the nation-wide program by proposing and enacting changes, projects, and subcommittees. I am able to provide the unique student perspective and help guide the program to the shared benefit of educators and students. I personally maintain the student LA resources page on the LAA website, and I help to lead forums and workshops at the International LA Conference in Boulder, CO. Assistant Program Director for Learning Assistant Program
-
Dec 2016 - Oct 2021
I am the student Program Director for the Learning Assistant Program at Boston University. The Learning Assistant Program is a national organization with over 270 institutions and organizations. We aim to get undergraduate students in TA positions in the college classroom. Beyond what a Teaching Fellow or Teaching Assistant can do, the Learning Assistants provide a valuable resource to students in terms of helping with course material and general college life. LA's take a pedagogy course concurrent with being an LA to learn more about the theory and practice of teaching. I help facilitate the application process, the hiring of new LA's, the coordination of schedules and events throughout the semester, and I compile and analyze exit survey data. Show less
