Daniel Munczek Edelman
Marina provided support for three large, complex projects. First, she helped coordinate our quarterly performance management process, which required gathering and analyzing data on inputs, outputs, and outcomes for our office’s portfolio of over 20 programs. This was both a significant administrative undertaking and required a strong understanding of how to arrange for successful service delivery on the ground. Second, she provided project management assistance during the outreach, selection, and implementation processes of our program proposal competition among City agencies, the Call for Collaborative Innovations. And third, she was my deputy on our office’s contribution to an interagency initiative to improve the reentry experience of women leaving Rikers Island. For this last project, she assisted with reviewing research literature, interviewing practitioners and experts, and participating in human-centered design activities, such as synthesizing collected qualitative data. Marina is intellectually curious and sought out opportunities to learn about a wide variety of policy issues and tools in both formal and informal settings, through webinars, trainings, and other in-person meetings. She displayed a particular interest in human-centered design and gender equity. This inclination didn’t just stem from wanting to perform well, but clearly came from a deeper desire to better advance equity. Marina is smart and capable, is excellent at working in a team, is a fast learner, and is committed to combating inequality and injustice.

Marina is one of the most proactive and creative women I've ever worked with. She is incredibly talented as a journalist and has a great sensitivity to treat subjects such as gender equality and the empowerment of women. I trust her vision and her moral principles and I firmly believe she could be of enormous value to any company or institution.
