  Coordinator, Green Information & Training Center (GITC) The Green Information and Training Center was first established as a pilot program for Workforce Development to inform, deliver and develop programs in sustainability with a focus on the trades. This led to the incorporation of green building practices into all the construction trade and industrial maintenance classes at BCC. Among the responsibilities held included:- Coordinate and identify green technology programs and certifications for BCC Economic and Workforce Development (EWD) Continuing Education programs. - Identify venues to inform the community through sustainability conferences and workshops. - Build sustainability partnerships in Southeastern NC. - Help develop the sustainability campus initiative at BCC by assisting to establish a sustainability committee, joining the Association for the Advancement of Higher Education (AASHE), and becoming charter members of the Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS). - Identify and assist with the registration process for national and regional renewable energy certifications for the trades. Role in the Green EnvironmentAs a recruiter.• Developed model to target Hispanic Community in Brunswick County; conducted surveys, telephone calls, onsite visits and information distribution; and designed bilingual (English-Spanish) informational brochures and power point presentations to promote programs.• Promoted and identified Green Building training needs in Brunswick County.
