Software Test Engineer

Apr 2019 - Oct 2019
As software tester at Terberg Benschop I set up the testing process in their vehicle software development team. This included creating and setting up the testing workflow, creating templates for the various documents produced during testing, and ensuring proper traceability throughout the testing process. Other activities included mocking of the various sensors in the system, creation of requirements for the software, and training colleagues in the use of Gherkin for specification purposes.

Video Producer
-
Mar 2019 - Mar 2019
In between my assignments at clients and development activities, I was responsible for the creation, shooting, and editing of a series of interviews with colleagues about their role in internal projects. The resulting video was shown at our yearly company-wide meeting. Aside from this I have produced some post-event videos of, for instance, the workshops I have given to clients.

Embedded Software Developer

Jan 2019 - Mar 2019
As an embedded developer for an internal project, I've created an IoT application for the Microsoft Azure Sphere platform to demonstrate how this highly secure platform can communicate (sensor) data to the Azure cloud and receive commands from the Azure cloud. The ultimate goal of this was to give workshops in the use of this platform for clients of Alten. The ultimate goal of this was to give workshops in the use of this platform for clients of Alten. The development of this workshop was done in conjunction with a colleague who was responsible for the cloud configuration. The result was a 'bomb defusal' game that illustrated the capabilities of these platforms. The workshop was intended to be a one-off event, but due to its success has been given three times now, two of which I was directly responsible for.

As a software tester at Lely I was responsible for the validation and part of the software release cycle of their automated milking machines. As part of the testing team I was responsible for the validation of the software for their new platform, the Astronaut A5. As part of the testing team I was responsible for the validation of the software for their new platform, the Astronaut A5. Apart from the standard software testing activities, this also involved figuring out whether bugs were caused by the software or by the new hardware platform; basic maintenance of the platform was also a recurring activity, as was the mounting/unmounting of optional components. Next to these activities I also created a software tool to support the manual testing efforts with some automated controls of the machine. This is a Python program adapted from existing but very limited software; it is still currently in use and can control all machines in the lab simultaneously from a single webpage.

Front-end Web developer
-
Jun 2017 - Oct 2017
As a front-end Web developer at Orga, I've re-created a user interface for off-shore lighting control that used to be an embedded Java applet in pure HTML and CSS using Typescript. This interface was able to render the page(s) communicated from the embedded server by interpreting the messages through JavaScript. The custom communication protocol was designed and implemented in concurrence with their embedded developer.
