Marie was an excellent manager, worked well under pressure and always remained cheerful at all times. She was a pleasure to work with and I also enjoy having her as a friend.

Working in Global Outsourcing (GO) Bristol, a BDO "Centre of Excellence". Responsibility for leading several global accounting and tax service projects, especially at the transition stage, for clients in the technology, pharmaceutical, real estate and financial services sectors. Project revenues ranged from £100K to £1.5M pa, often delivered in 20+ countries, using a local professional coordination team and BDO's network of local offices. Project setup included performing anti money laundering procedures, and agreeing master contracts with clients and their procurement teams. Project delivery often leveraged innovative solutions such as offshoring, shared/centralised services and use of client's own systems, such as NetSuite, CODA, Oracle and Great Plains, as well as in-house systems such as Xero and AccountsIQ. As project lead, I was responsible for adhering to agreed Statements of Work and managing workloads and resources to ensure efficiency and profitability. Business Development responsibilities included UK and US pipelines beginning to end, including writing blogs, lead generation, website enquiries, maintaining a sales and marketing activity plan, writing proposals, pricing, presenting face to face and over WebEx, and reporting the outcome to the Partners. Work won by my own personal efforts was considerable. As a Risk Champion within GO, I participated in several cold reviews and communicated processes and procedures across the team to mitigate risk, maintaining a risk register updated regularly with the Firm's risk management team. Other responsibilities included review and quality control in service charge expenditure reporting, overseeing statutory accounts preparation on CaseWare and championing the rollout of BDO's iXBRL services. Significant other practice responsibilities including budgeting, scheduling, fee negotiation, billing and collections, as well as coaching, career counselling, mentoring, supervising, networking and recruiting.
