    • AmeriCorps Member-Water Steward
      • Jan 2015 - Nov 2015

Through my position with AmeriCorps, I was assigned to work with The Blackfoot Challenge, a non-profit whose success in conservation is based on community relationships and involvement.I primarily worked on data collection and organization for the Drought Response Plan, a project where watershed residents voluntarily reduce water-use to mitigate the negative impacts of drought. Additionally, I helped produce and promote media to further efforts in water conservation. My time with the Blackfoot Challenge taught me the importance of continued community involvement and maintaining relationships to achieve success in conservation while respecting community values.

    • Outdoor Educator
      • Apr 2013 - Dec 2014

During my time at the Leslie Science & Nature Center, I was responsible for designing and leading between 10-30 children in educational, outdoor programs. Program themes varied based on age group and setting, but generally adhered to learning about local flora and fauna, earth's history, and interactions between humans and the natural world. My time working with children in the outdoors allowed me to refine my communication skills, taught me to be prepared for many unknowns, and adjust materials and lesson plans as needed.
