Sat on the bench with His Honour and observed proceedings on some very serious cases whilst assisting administratively. Observed a huge variety of hearings and cases at several different stages of their progression through the legal system. Gained from this experience the benefit of spending time with a member of the judiciary and the means to think objectively. Invitation to return. Investigative role, used databases to access and record information relevant to an active case. I was responsible for producing a spreadsheet of information and working with an analyst to turn this into a fully working case chart. This placement taught me much about the workings of the tax system and how to operate complex and unfamiliar database systems. Through this placement I have demonstrated my ability to handle the quantitative side of business despite my background as a humanities student.

Technical and marketing role editing and correcting pages on the new website. I was responsible for checking and editing HTML links to ensure the new website was fully functioning as well as for researching and updating the historical dictionary. This significantly developed my IT skills as well as my understanding of marketing and how best to promote a product. Technical and marketing role editing and correcting pages on the new website. Took minutes in policy meetings and closely reviewed relevant documents, providing useful comment on making them more user friendly for the public, promoting plain English and eliminating jargon. This placement developed my appreciation for the art of communicating effectively and easily with the public in order to encourage them to accurately complete and reply to correspondence.
