I joined Selwyn District Council as a casual employee to assist with several projects requiring a resource with a background in contact and project management. The role became permanent in February 2016. Projects completed include the development of a parks and gardens maintenance tender document, Community Spaces Plan, operational strategy and administration guide for the organization's fleet including the procurement of a fleet management system. Other work tasks assigned included residential tenancy management, fleet management, and freedom camping planning. I resigned this role to travel. Show less

Lead the development and management of the city's recreational open spaces portfolio for the city and sub-regionally. The key focus for this role was the leadership of a multi discipline 17 person team which was responsible for the provision, development, and delivery of Council's Open Space and Recreation business - end to end.The accountabilities included team leadership, development and performance; relationship management with strategic stakeholders including other Councils, Tangata whenua, contractors, and key community groups; delivery of the total operational, planning, and capital programme programme for the city's Open Space activity - at the time a $20 million per annum operation. Over this period I also lead the team in a programme of continuous improvement - in asset management planning, contract procurement, financial planning, health and safety, and professional and personal development.
