I built up a new non-profit entity and independently ran operations while laying the groundwork to build capabilities. To do this, I wrote the mission statement, determined the governance and Board structure, recruited Board members, and formed working committees (including formal Board Governance Committee and Fundraising Committee). I then directed fundraising efforts, focused the marketing strategy, and created promotional materials, organization logo, and website. Shortly after its founding, I was brought in to articulate and deliver the goals and strategic direction for the organization and its programs. I developed an annual operating budget and worked with the Board to develop and implement a strategic funding raising plan. I assembled a donor base and built strategic partnerships with all major healthcare institutions within the Illinois Medical District, the second-largest medical district in the nation.
