Processing bone marrow aspirate, bone core, peripheral blood, lymph node, FNA, POC, CSF specimens for oncology and genetic testing: inoculate to set up cell and tissue cultures, harvest cells, prepare slides in Thermotron, stain slides for microscopic analysis of chromosomes using G-banding techniques. Consolidating / archiving processed specimens. Cleaning / storing analyzed and captured slides Packaging and shipping send out slides with corresponding patient paperwork to affiliated labs. Maintaining logs and records of chemicals, media, reagents, slides, and all other supplies and equipment used in the Cytogenetics wet lab. Supporting dry lab in high volume needs: capturing analyzed cells from slides, chromosome cutting / pairing using karyotyping software, exporting analyzed cells via LIMS. Participating in departmental monthly lab meetings: provide feedback to supervisors to improve process efficiency and productivity.
