I came to know Mariam while she was a resident advisor in my residence hall, Jones Hall, at Mississippi University for Women. She immediately took a leadership role among the other resident advisors on staff, distinguishing herself as a bright, inquisitive, energetic worker and scholar. She was a guide for new staff members and helped them to better understand their roles within the hall. She works well independently and in a team setting. Mariam is extremely resourceful and creative. I mentoring Mariam through her time with Mississippi University for Women's Department of Residence Life.
