As a caseworker at the ASUC Student Legal Clinic, I have been able to deliver legal case reports for UC Berkeley students and surrounding community members to address their legal questions. During this process, I am responsible for conducting client intake and contributing to legal research of laws pertaining to the client's problem. I also perform IRS-certified tax preparation for clients making up to $50,000 annually and contribute to saving clients hundreds of thousands of dollars during tax season via tax returns.

The Greenlining Institute is a public policy organization that is committed to building a just economy that is inclusive, cooperative, sustainable, participatory, fair, and healthy. They design and support policies designed to open doors to opportunity, recognizing that America’s racial wealth gap was created by deliberate policy choices and it will take deliberate, race-conscious choices to end it. To support, Greenlining's legislative priorities, I lobbied 5 local and state officials on SB 17, HR 39, AB 13, and AB 946. I was also able to conduct an extensive literature review and qualitative surveys with community-based organizations and nonprofit partners. With that research, I produced a policy memo for internal distribution and a blog post for public-facing media concerning algorithmic bias in the tenant screening process and socioeconomic barriers for low-income renters. I also generated a housing reparations policy scan to guide 30+ Black led organizations in the Bay Area for future initiatives.

Sep 2018 - Feb 2020
The Prisoner's Literature Project is a nonprofit organization that encourages reading and agency for incarcerated people by sending free reading materials. At this organization, I was tasked with supervising the personal information of California inmates to ensure privacy and discretion. I also coordinated closely with other volunteers to streamline the process of mailing hundreds of books monthly. To ensure that each package reached its destination, I analyzed and memorized extensive prison regulations to meet the requests of incarcerated persons daily.
