My main responsibility is to plan, implement, monitor and coordinate activities for HIV & TB identification, linkage, treatment, retention and viral suppression among children, adolescents and youth in the health facilities the Project supports. This is in partnership with the County and Sub-county health management teams, NASCOP and Donor. I also represent the organization in meetings, TWGs and community fora for health discussions and decisions as well as document and share for awareness creation and advocacy.Key achievements/projects- Written several articles with one of them being published an shared on various platforms (https://www.nation.co.ke/oped/opinion/Systems-for-adolescents-with-HIV/440808-5060884-i1acayz/index.html)- 98% children from age of 6 years are receiving age-appropriate disclosure with the aid of a structured disclosure checklist- Improved viral suppression among adolescents from 73% in March 2017 to 82% in March 2019. - I rolled out Operation Triple Zero clubs (OTZ) for empowerment of Adolescents Living with HIV in all 9 health facilities to promote adherence, retention and viral suppression. Programmatic duties included leading the team on Pediatric and adolescent HIV care, elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV (eMTCT) and interventions for suspected treatment failure cases in the project’s different sites. In addition, I provided preventive, diagnostic and curative services and mentored newly engaged colleagues on quality services.Key achievements:- Successful management and follow-up of over 150 mother-baby eMTCT pairs with <5% transmission rate- Followed-up of over 3000 people living with HIV by offering quality HIV management services and I was recognized by the community for serving them well.- Planned and coordinated training of over 150 HCW on eMTCT and ART Guidelines- Came up with a strategy for prompt intervention for clients with suspected ART treatment failure- Mentored over 10 clinical officers to be able to provide high quality HIV care and treatment Show less
